GLEZDesigns, LLC Project Manager bridges the boundaries between engineering and Gonzalez Construction, LLC leading the technical workers who contribute to the building of structures or products. In all cases, the project manager and the superintendent have a joint responsibility for leading a project.
Each project is assigned a Project Manager who is the primary point of contact. They monitor and manage the communications stream between technical personnel assigned to the project. They are also responsible for monitoring all contract costs and maintaining cost control and subcontracted services.
GLEZ Designs, LLC Project Manager’s responsibilities include schedule preparation, pre-planning, resource forecasting,and other technical activities relating to the project. They may be also in charge of vendor performance management, accuracy of financial forecasts, and project schedules. They ensure projects are completed according to project plans. GLEZ’s Project Managers manage project team resources and training and develop extensive project management experience and expertise. Multiple specialty disciplines result in two important responsibilities of the project manager, which are inter-discipline coordination and overall quality control of the work.
GLEZ’s Project Managers are qualified in engineering or construction management. Other titles include field engineer, construction engineer, or construction project engineer. In smaller projects, this person may also be responsible for contacts and will be called an assistant project manager.
GLEZ’s Project Managers do not design work, but instead represent Gonzalez Construction, LLC out in the field. They help trades people interpret the job’s design, ensure the job is constructed according to the project plans, and assist project controls. Project controls include budgeting, scheduling and planning. In some cases a Project Manager is responsible for assisting the assigned Superintendent with regard to design and project and with the execution of one or more simultaneous projects in accordance with valid, executed contract, per GLEZ Designs policies and procedures and work instructions for customized and standardized plans.
GLEZ’s Project Manager’s typical responsibilities may include: daily operations of field work activities and organizations of subcontractors; interpretation of drawings for tradesmen; review of engineering deliverables; redlining drawings; regular project status reports; budget monitoring and trend tracking; bills of materials creation and maintenance; effective communications between engineering, technical, construction and project control groups; and assistance to the superintendent.
